India: Tropical Cyclone Fani

On Thursday 02 May 2019, Tropical Cyclone Fani strengthened significantly in the Bay of Bengal off India’s east coast. Maximum sustained winds have reached 250 kilometres per hour and gusts have reached up to 305 kilometres per hour, according to the Joint Typhoon Warning Centre. Tropical Cyclone Fani is expected to make landfall in Odisha, near the city of Puri, on the morning of Friday 03 May, local time.
